Kidney Disease
Kidney disease has been estimated to affect nearly 26 million Americans. The increase of kidney disease is now reaching epidemic proportions. The rates are even higher among racial and ethnic minorities.
Hypertension
Hypertension is a medical condition defined as uncontrolled high blood pressure. About 1 of 5 U.S. adults with hypertension don’t know they have it.
Diabetes
Diabetes is often associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Diabetes and kidney disease, together significantly increase a person's risk of cardiovascular disease, heart attack and stroke.
Glomerular Disease
Glomerular disease is a disease that affects the working part of the kidney (the glomerulus). This can occur by itself (i.e., affect only the kidney), or may be associated with an underlying medical condition that affects other organ systems such as lupus, diabetes, or certain infections.
