Dr. Clara W. Truesdell is the founder of Hypertension & Kidney Consultants of Georgia (HKCG), an independent nephrology practice she established in 1998. Born and raised in Starkville, Mississippi, she earned her undergraduate degree from Jackson State University and her medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. She completed her residency and fellowship training at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta.
For more than 30 years, Dr. Truesdell has devoted her career to the care of patients with kidney disease and hypertension. Her practice encompasses the evaluation and management of chronic kidney disease, hypertension, proteinuria, and other disorders affecting kidney health. She has also served in leadership roles within the dialysis community, including as a medical director. Dr. Truesdell is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and other professional organizations. She has been recognized by Castle Connolly as an Atlanta Top Doctor for multiple consecutive years.
For Dr. Truesdell, nephrology is more than about treating laboratory values or managing a diagnosis. It is about understanding the individual patient, addressing risk factors early, and building relationships that support kidney health over time. The long-term relationships she has developed with patients and families are central to the way she approaches care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Truesdell enjoys spending time with family and friends and maintaining an active lifestyle. She has a strong interest in personal style, with a particular appreciation for thrift and consignment shopping. For her, the search for a great find is an exercise in creativity, self-expression, and thoughtful acquisition. She looks forward to having more time to travel, learn to sew, and pursue the study of a foreign language, beginning with French.
Roslyn Moore, NP-C, is originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, her master’s degree from Thomas University in Thomasville, Georgia, and a post-master’s certificate in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care from Valdosta State University.
Board-certified in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care, Roslyn brings more than 30 years of nursing experience to her work. Her clinical background includes critical care, post-anesthesia care, nursing leadership, and wound care. She has provided nephrology care since 2022 and relocated to the Atlanta area from Thomasville, Georgia, in 2025.
Roslyn is passionate about providing thoughtful, comprehensive care to patients with kidney disease and enjoys developing long-term relationships with the patients she serves.
Outside of medicine, Roslyn is the mother of two adult daughters. She enjoys traveling and the arts — particularly theater, dance, and music—as well as spending time with family and friends.
Darlene Aiken is a Certified Medical Assistant and a longtime member of the HKCG team. Her relationship with Dr. Truesdell and the practice spans more than two decades. She first joined Dr. Truesdell’s private practice in 2003 and remained with the practice through 2008. After several years away, Darlene returned to HKCG in 2011 and has been an important part of the practice ever since.
Darlene plays a central role in the patient experience at HKCG. She is often the first person a new patient encounters and one of the last people to make sure that the details surrounding a patient’s care have been addressed. Her responsibilities extend well beyond the traditional role of a medical assistant. She coordinates services, communicates with hospitals and other members of the healthcare team, and works closely with HKCG’s administrative and management teams to help ensure that what needs to happen for a patient actually gets done.
Known for her warmth, kindness, and responsiveness, Darlene has a natural ability to make patients feel comfortable and cared for. She takes a personal interest in the people she serves and is often a reassuring presence for patients and families navigating the healthcare system. Darlene’s long history with HKCG and deep understanding of the practice make her an invaluable member of the team. She brings continuity, compassion, and a genuine commitment to helping patients through every interaction.
Outside of work, Darlene enjoys quiet time at home, reading a good book, and spending time with family and friends
